This piece explores the disconnect between upbringing and identity. The foundation that is built for us as children that feels set in stone as we grow into adulthood; the ways this can uplift us, as well as hold us back. Sometimes we must discard our old foundation and build a new one in order to live authentically to who we are, versus how we were taught to be.

This is about a journey of being able to pick yourself up from any challenges and having the courage to keep moving on. Life is like water waves, it goes from neutral, to calm and to a very heavy splash. It also shows the dancer's synergy, expression, and movement dynamics.

How do you see yourself? When do you feel you are most free and blossoming? If you can live without anyone watching or judging you, how would you become? When you are in a relationship or a group that you’ve identified with, how do you influence each other? Do they shape your cognition or does your participation construct them?

In the glow of screens, we shape our face,
A polished self, a curated space.
Each post, each like, a tiny thread
We weave to claim the lives we've led.
But deep beneath this glossy sheen,
Who are we, when we’re unseen?
Is it the selfie, or the soul?
The moment’s spark, or something whole?
